Compostarea

Compostarea reprezinta procesul de descompunere si transformare a substantelor organice solide de catre microorganisme (in principal bacterii si fungi) intr-un material stabil, care poate fi valorificat (in functie de caracteristici) in agricultura, in locul ingrasamintelor chimice sau in lucrari de imbunatatiri funciare (ameliorarea solului).

Composting is the process of decomposing and transforming organic solids by microorganisms (basically bacteria and fungi) into a stable material that can be exploited (depending on its characteristics) in agriculture instead of chemical fertilizers or for the improvement of land (soil improvement).

Categorii de deseuri compostabile

Principalele categorii de deseuri care pot fi compostate sunt:

• deseurile provenite din gradini si parcuri

• fractia biodegradabila din deseurile menajere si asimilabile (resturi de fructe si legume, coji de oua si alte resturi alimentare)

• deseurile provenite din piete si complexe alimentare

• resturile biodegradabile din industria alimentara

• namolul rezultat din statiile de epurare orasenesti (respectiv, cele care nu sunt poluate cu metale grele sau alti agenti chimici nepermisi) 

• deseurile provenite din complexele zootehnice

The main categories of waste that can be composted are:

• garden and park waste

• the biodegradable fraction of household and assimilable waste (fruit and vegetable waste, egg shells and other food scraps)

• waste from markets and food complexes

• biodegradable residues from the food industry

• sludge from urban waste water treatment plants (those that are not polluted with heavy metals or other unacceptable chemical agents)

• wastes from zootechnical complexes
